MiCite is a service of Cognisint LLC, created and developed by David W. Towne, a licensed Michigan attorney, and shared with users without cost under a Functional Source License, Version 1.1, ALv2 Future License.

MiCite checks citation format only. It does not validate the existence of a cited case or source, verify quoted material or legal inferences, or determine whether an authority has been overruled, superseded, abrogated, vacated, distinguished, or otherwise limited. Additional functions may be added later, but MiCite is currently a formatting tool, not a cite-checking or legal research tool.

Legal professionals and other users are reminded of their duty to independently verify all information, citations, formatting, and authorities before submission to a court or other tribunal.
